D.F. / arr. JING XIAN
Powerful and invigorating, Tibetan dances are often accompanied by drums strapped to performers’ bodies. This piece opens with the trombone—imitating the elongated dung-chen horn—calling down from snow-capped peaks, and drumbeats echoing in reply. The rhythmic melody interchanges between brass and strings, then leads to a spirited percussion solo.
