Flurries of notes represent the movements of their hands, dexterous and graceful, as they twirl sparkling handkerchiefs in a Chinese village folk dance. Syncopated rhythms and bursts of sound symbolize fireworks in the distance. Just as the melody slows, the initial tempo returns and the festivities resume with heightened vigor.
