D.F. / arr. JUNYI TANDelicate Dance is a premiere work written for three erhu soloists and orchestra. The erhu has a history of 4,000 years. Though it has only two strings, the instrument is able to “sing” effortlesly, and convey a wide range of emotions. The erhu is thus often likened to the human voice. Melancholy melodies and spirited left-hand pizzicato are combined in this piece, showcasing the instrument’s versatility.
