Fürstenau is a memorable name in the history of flute music. The family produced three accomplished flutists who composed prolifically for their instrument. As a young virtuoso, Anton Bernhard Fürstenau (17921852) performed on concert tour alongside his father. By age 27, he was already the principal flutist of the prestigious Dresden orchestra. Today he is remembered as the most notable Romantic flutist of his time. His Rondo Brillant, Op. 102, begins with a slow introduction leading into a rondo proper that is glitteringly delightful.Performed by Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra, 2013.
