Early Shen Yun Pieces: The Opening of Heaven's Gates (2011 Production)
Early Shen Yun Pieces
Traditional Chinese thought holds that good begets good and evil begets evil. Here we see this idea play out in a modern context. As the curtain rises, a young man enters a park in today’s China with a banner proclaiming, “Falun Dafa Hao” (Falun Dafa is Good). The people who see it are cheered by his goodwill and gather around in approval. Just then, two policemen arrive to demand the banner’s removal, as the spiritual practice has been banned in China by the Communist Party. When the young man tries to reason with them, he ends up paying a heavy price.

The bystanders, shocked and indignant, unite in protest but are soon overwhelmed. Many of them flee. Divine wrath and retribution promptly ensue, only to be halted by a holy being who appears and offers mercy to all good people. In the final scene, golden words appear: “Heaven’s Gates Are Opening.”
